The Beatles’ surviving members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr performed together in Los Angeles on Monday at an all-star tribute to the Fab Four to be televised in February.

The show featured a rare reunion by Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox as Eurythmics performing ‘The Fool On The Hill’.

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr also played together but only for ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ and ‘Hey Jude’.

McCartney and Starr last played together in 2010 for Ringo’s 70th birthday. They also performed publicly together in 2009 for a benefit for the David Lynch Foundation.

McCartney sang ‘Magical Mystery Tour’, ‘Birthday’, ‘Get Back’, ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ and ‘Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band’ while Ringo performed the songs he sang in The Beatles, ‘Matchbox’, ‘Boys’ and ‘Yellow Submarine’ as well as ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’.

For the show John Mayer teamed Keith Urban, Alicia Keys with John Legend, Dave Grohl with Jeff Lynne of ELO, Gary Clark Jr with Grohl and Joe Walsh and Walsh and Lynne also performed George Harrison’s ‘Something’

‘The Night That Changed America: A Grammy’s Salute To The Beatles’ took place at The Los Angeles Convention Center on Monday night. CBS will broadcast the event on February 9. The date will mark the 50th anniversary of when The Beatles first appeared on American television on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 7, 1964. At that show The Beatles performed ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’.

June 1966 marked the arrival of one of the most unusual releases in The Beatles' catalogue when Yesterday And Today reached stores across the United States and Canada. Released through Capitol Records, the album compiled tracks drawn from Help!, Rubber Soul, recent singles and recordings that would later appear on Revolver, creating a uniquely North American version of The Beatles' rapidly evolving sound.
