The Melbourne based Blue King Brown was formed in 2004 by Natalie Pa’apa’a and Carlo Santone. The band draws on its heritage of Samoan, Native American and Mexican background.

Natalie and Carlo started out in Byron Bay before relocating to Melbourne and then adding Salvador Persico, Sam Cope and Peter Wilkins.

Lea and Petra join Blue King Brown as backing singers. They are the daughters of the late Agosto Rumwaropen, the singer and songwriter for West Papuan band The Black Brothers.

“It remains our passion to continue the legacy our late father left for us, to keep spreading the West Papua message through music, especially now with BKB!!” says Petra Rumwaropen.

Natalie, Lea and Petra will perform an acoustic set on the Julian Marley Australian dates in May.

Dates are:

May 9, Melbourne, The Corner Hotel
May 10, Sydney, The Metro

Upcoming Blue King Brown dates are:

May 21 Duo, Shibuya, Japan
May 23 Club Quattro, Osaka, Japan
