The nomination was a major achievement for Bluesfest boss Peter Noble who was in Los Angeles today for the Pollstar Awards.

This is only the second time in the 24 years of the awards that an Australian event has been nominated in this category (the other being Vivid).

Bluesfest at Byron Bay was nominated along with Primavera Sound (Spain), Sweden Rock Festival (Sweden), T In The Park (Scotland), Tomorrowland (Belgium) and V Festivals (Belguim). T In The Park won but that still put Bluesfest into the Top 6 International Music Festivals.

Bluesfest 2013 will be held over the Easter Long Weekend in Byron Bay this year and features a list of Grammy nominees. Performing for 2013 are The Lumineers, Bonnie Raitt, Ruthie Foster and Jimmy Cliff.

Bluesfest 2013 will feature Paul Simon, Robert Plant, Ben Harper, Santana, Iggy & The Stooges, Steve Miller Band, Counting Crows, Wilco, Jason Mraz, Joan Armatrading, Taj Mahal, Chris Isaak, Rodriguez, Roger Hodgson, Robert Cray, Gen Hansard, Wanda Jackson and more.

Bluesfest will be held at Byron Bay from March 28 to April 1 over the Easter Long Weekend.
