Bono Injured In Bike Accident, Cancelled Week Of TV

There will be no U2 residency this week on NBC’s Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon as Bono has had an accident on his bike and requires surgery on his arm.

There are no real details at this time other than the following post on U2’s website:

From Edge, Adam & Larry:

It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time – we’re one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We’re sure he’ll make a full recovery soon, so we’ll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.

It’s been a week of bad transportation incidents for Bono. Earlier in the week, the rear hatch on the private plane on which the singer was riding detached while the craft was in the air. He was late on Saturday to the Band Aid 30 recording session when the plane he was in was delayed by fog and, now, the bike accident.

Those who still long for a week of great rock can tune in to Craig Ferguson on CBS who will still have the Foo Fighters all week.
