‘Heroes: The Musical’ is a production using an artists music around a plot, much like Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’ and Abba’s ‘Mamma Mia’.

Screenwriter and producer Deep Singh told The Guardian that approved the Bowie camp has approved of the use of Bowie music in his musical. However, Bowie’s publicist Mitch Schneider says that nothing has been arranged.

‘Heroes: The Musical’ is set in the future. The key character Major Tom is a starman called David. The context of the music is to focus on the importance of Bowie’s lyrics in the future.

Singh told The Guardian, “We did not want Mr Bowie to think it was going to be a tribute show”.

The characters revolve around characters from Bowie songs. For instance, the villains are the Diamond Dogs.

The show is set to feature 20 Bowie songs and 30 performers.

It is planned to open at London’s Indig02 in March (if it gets off the ground).
