Demi Lovato will reveal stories of her drug overdose on next album

Demi Lovato is planning to use her next album to share her “side of the story” in her first new material since her near-fatal drug overdose last summer (18).

Demi Lovato recently returned to the studio to work on the follow-up to 2017’s Tell Me You Love Me, and in a post on her Instagram Story timeline on Tuesday (25Jun19), the singer revealed the content of the songs will be coming straight from her heart.

“You know what’s great about making an album?” the 26 year old wrote. “You get to say anything you want, be as open and honest as possible and finally tell your side of the story regardless of who might not like it…”

Demi, who had battled substance abuse issues in the past, concluded the post by adding a shrugging emoji.

The pop star stopped short of explaining what “story” she was referring to, but her comments emerge six months after she hit out at tabloid gossip and insisted fans would one day get to hear all about the circumstances which led up to her health scare in July, 2018, when she was found unconscious at her Hollywood Hills home and had to be rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.

“Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today,” she tweeted in December.

“But until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up shit that you know nothing about. I still need space and time to heal..”

Demi had been clean for six years before confessing to relapsing on her most recent single Sober, which was released just a month before her overdose scare.
