Angus Stone, of Angus & Julia fame, has made his new solo song ‘Broken Brights’ available for download.

Stone spoke to triplej breakfast duo Tom and Alex this morning about his second solo album.
He said that the songs were written “by the canals of Europe, in cabins in the hills of Switzerland and lodgings in and around the coast of Australia” and most of the tracks that ended up on it were “first takes from the day’s harvest in the studio”.
Triplej aired the first sample, a track called ‘Broken Brights’, which is available to download from their website here.
Stone writes in the notes accompanying the song:
“These writings from the record are of great shift for me in the story telling of these past four years of traveling. Playing this record live is going to be quite a euphoric walk for me. I’m ready at the end of the year to get a rucksack together with a few well needed treasures and a bunch of new n old friends and get to taking off down the road throwing our hats to the wind.”
