Ed Sheeran Plays For Sick Kids In Hospital

Ed Sheeran paid a surprise visit to a children’s hospital in Massachusetts over the weekend (15-16Sep18) and performed for his sick young fans.

Ed Sheeran made a surprise entrance at the Ryan Seacrest Studios at Boston Children’s Hospital on behalf of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation on Saturday, when he met and took pictures with the patients.

After sitting with the children and answering questions about making music, he pulled out his guitar and performed his hit Perfect.

“I saw a lot of tears in the audience when he sang,” one attendee said. “It was very emotional.”

“Over the weekend, Boston Children’s welcomed special guest Ed Sheeran!,” a message on Facebook read. “The award-winning singer/songwriter answered questions from patients, posed for selfies, and sang his hit song Perfect. Thank you Ed for helping to bring smiles to faces of our patients, families and staff! We hope to see you again soon!”

Ed was in town to perform at the Gillette Stadium, but he frequently makes stops to visit with his young fans – last year, he staged an impromptu gig for Liberian children orphaned by the 2014 Ebola virus outbreak. The singer visited the country as part of British charity Comic Relief’s fundraising efforts.

“I’ll never forget the kids I met on this trip,” he said. “When we sang together they were in such high spirits despite everything they’d been through,” he said. “It was an incredibly eye-opening experience and I’m really proud to support Comic Relief and see what they are doing to help these children have a better future.”

He’s also famous for meeting many of his terminally ill fans one-on-one, when they are too sick to attend his shows.
