Elton John has issued a thankyou note to his fans for all of the well wishes during his current medical situation.
Elton recently had to cancel a series of concerts when he was diagnosed with an abscess on his appendix. His doctors put him on a course of antibiotics to knock down the infection and he is expected to have surgery soon in the U.K.
The singer had the following posted to his website:
I would like to thank the literally thousands of people who have sent me get well cards and messages over the past two weeks. Your well wishes have touched me deeply and will play a big part in my recovery.
I cannot wait to see you all and thank you in person when I resume my concert schedule later this year. In the meantime, please know that I consider myself a very blessed man to have such caring and considerate fans.

Elton is scheduled to receive the first BRITs Icon Award on September 2 and resume touring on September 3 in Leeds, U.K.
