First Three You Am I Albums Return To ARIA Album Chart

You Am I’s first three albums returned to the ARIA album chart after being reissued by Sony last week.

‘Hi Fi Way’ (1995) was in at 48, ‘Hourly Daily’ (1996) at 49 and the debut album ‘Sound A Ever’ (1993) is at 56.

The first three You Am I albums have been remastered and expanded by Sony to coincide with the band’s current ‘Hi Fi Daily Double’ tour. You Am I are touring Australia performing ‘Hi Fi Way’ and ‘Hourly Daily’ from start to finish.

‘Hi Fi Way’ gave You Am I their first Top 40 single success with the song ‘Cathy’s Clown’. ‘Hourly Daily’ delivered Top 40 hits with ‘Soldiers’, ‘Tuesday’ and ‘Trike’.

The debut ‘Sound As Ever’ only reached no. 61 in its day. It was recorded in America with producer Lee Ranaldo from Sonic Youth.

The second album ‘Hi Fi Way’ started a chain of number one albums for You Am I. The next album ‘Hourly Daily’ debuted at number one. ‘#4 Record’ was also a number one.
