Former supermodel Iman has paid a sweet tribute to late husband David Bowie on what would have been the couple’s 24th wedding anniversary.

The rock icon lost his battle with cancer on January 10, just two days after his 69th birthday.

On Monday, almost six months after David’s passing, Iman took to Instagram.com to share a photo of the couple embracing on a beach. The black and white image featured the words: “The best thing about me is you”.

“June 6th…., 24th wedding anniversary #foreverlove (sic),” the 60-year-old wrote in the simple caption.

Bowie and Iman met in October, 1990 and wed in Tuscany, Italy in 1992.

“They were inseparable,” close friend and hairstylist Teddy Antolin recalled to People.com of the couple’s early romance back in January, following the singer’s death.

“They really knew each other because they had come up and travelled in the same circles. They were great together. She was a real force and he needed a woman by his side to keep him focused.”

“The wedding was stunning,” Antolin continued. “It was all outside of Florence in an old villa that had been transformed into a luxury hotel.”

Iman gave birth to the couple’s only child, daughter Alexandria ‘Lexi’ Zahra Jones, in 2000.

Bowie was also dad to filmmaker son Duncan, from his first marriage to Mary Angela Barnett.

Iman has been keeping a low-profile since her husband’s passing, but she broke her silence in February when she shared a simple message to fans on Instagram, which read: “Love & Gratitude”.
