John Paul Young’s Love Is In The Air Graces Will & Grace

The producers of hit sitcom ‘Will & Grace’ have used John Paul Young’s Australian classic ‘Love Is In The Air’ for the season finale episode based around Jack’s wedding.

In the finale ‘Jack’s Big Gay Wedding’ Jack married Estefan at the airport in New York after their flight to Spain is cancelled. ‘Love Is In The Air’ is the soundtrack to the finale scene in the show.

“Our first song as husband and husband,” Jack says as John Paul Young’s classic hit soars.

‘Love Is In The Air’ was written by John’s producers Harry Vanda and George Young (The Easybeats/Flash & The Pan). Young released the song in Australia in April, 1978. It reached no 3 in Australia in 1978 and again in 1992 when it was used in the movie ‘Strictly Ballroom’.

‘Love Is In The Air’ has also been recorded by Tom Jones (1979) and Gary Barlow (1989).

As well as Australia, ‘Love Is In The Air’ was a hit for John Paul Young in Austria (no 3), Belguim (no 3), Canada (no 26), Netherlands (no 9), Germany (no 3), Ireland (no 5), New Zealand (no 8), Norway (no 2), South Africa (no 2), Sweden (no 2), Switzerland (no 5), UK (no 5), USA (no 7).

John Paul Young is part of the 2019 Apia Good Times tour with Russell Morris, Joe Camilleri, Vika & Linda, Brian Cadd, Kate Ceberano and Ross Wilson.

Why Queen’s Quietest Member John Deacon Chose to Become a Recluse Until This Rare Return

For fans of Queen, John Deacon has long been the enigma of the band, a brilliant musician, masterful songwriter, and humble presence behind the scenes. Since the early 1990s, Deacon has shunned the spotlight, retiring quietly after Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991. But now, years later, he has quietly resurfaced, lending his signature alongside bandmates Roger Taylor and Brian May on a charity auction item, signalling, perhaps, that even the most private of souls can still make their mark in unexpected ways.
