Kiss Happy To Include Original Members In Hall Of Fame Induction

Gene Simmons says Kiss would be happy to include departed original members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction of the band.

Now that KISS is finally in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the questions have begun on who will play on induction night in Brooklyn.

Rolling Stone magazine spoke with Gene Simmons on Tuesday who tried to explain how he saw KISS today and how past members fit into the picture.

The magazine asked who would play at the ceremony to which Simmons replied “Well, Kiss is Tommy Thayer, Eric Singer, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. It’s like, if you introduced me to your wife and I go, ‘Wait, where are all the other wives?’ It’s like, ‘Yeah, I was married to them and now I’m here.'”

When pushed farther, he did admit that he was open to playing with Peter Criss and Ace Frehley for the ceremony. “…they were equally important in the formation of the band. When you have kids with your first wife, you give kudos. The fact you got remarried doesn’t delete or minimize the important. Hey, ‘You have gave birth to this thing, Kiss, with Ace, Peter, Paul and Gene.'”

Criss has not said anything about the ceremony bud did post on his website.

Congratulations to Gene, Paul, and Ace. Also to Bill Aucoin, who I wish could have been here to share this with us.

Thank you to all the fans!

Thank you to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Frehley did state that he would be at the induction, posting on his website:

My Congratulations go out to Gene, Paul, Peter, and Bill as well as all of the other talented inductees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2014 Ceremony!

Our fans were always there for us, and they deserve to be honored as well!

My musical career has been a roller coaster ride, but I never gave up or compromised my musical choices!

I am very excited and honored to be part of the celebration this coming April.

Kiss will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates, Cat Stevens, Nirvana and Linda Ronstadt.
