Ladd started on radio in 1969 and in 1971 was hired for the first time from KLOS. In 1974 he moved to KMET, then to KAMP in 1987 and then back to KLOS in 1997 where he has been hosting his time-time freeform radio show ever since.

Ladd appeared on the Roger Waters album ‘Radio K.O.A.S.’ as DJ Jim and appeared in three music videos for Waters. He was also the late night DJ in Cameron Crowe’s 1989 movie ‘Say Anything’.

Ladd was just one of many staffers fired by the new owners of KLOS, Cumulus Media.
