Lady Gaga Confirms Split With Taylor Kinney

Lady Gaga has confirmed her split from fiancé Taylor Kinney.

It was reported on Tuesday that the couple had ended their relationship after five years together, and Gaga took to her Instagram page to reveal the sad news to fans on Wednesday.

Alongside a snap of her and Kinney with their arms around one another, Gaga wrote: “Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break.

“We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other.”

While Gaga is being kept busy with her hugely successful music career, Kinney is becoming a favourite screen star thanks to his role in Chicago Fire.

And it has been claimed that the couple’s busy work schedules contributed to the reasons for their break.

“She’s working on an album, he’s working on his show, they aren’t in the same state, it was just hard,” a source told People.com. “They both love each other very much and they want it to work. It’s just been tough with the long distance.”

A representative for the singer confirmed to the outlet that Gaga and Kinney are “on a break”.

Kinney proposed to the pop superstar on Valentine’s Day (14Feb) in 2015, and the couple was reportedly planning to tie the knot later this year (16).

They began dating in 2011, after he played her onscreen love interest in her You and I video.

After the news of their engagement broke online last year (15), the bride-to-be took to her Instagram.com page and shared a photo of her heart-shaped diamond ring with fans.

She captioned the black-and-white snap, “He gave me his heart on Valentine’s Day, and I said YES!”
