Laneway Festival Loses Lykke Li

Cavetown, the long running project of UK born artist Robin Skinner, has released his new album Running With Scissors, out now via Futures Music Group and Virgin Music Group. The record arrives as a defining chapter in Skinner's evolution, expanding the intimate bedroom pop foundations that first drew listeners to his work into a broader, more confrontational and emotionally layered statement about adulthood, responsibility and self definition.

Six-time Platinum indie favourite Cavetown has unveiled a new single, Sailboat, a luminous collaboration with Chloe Moriondo that signals an emotionally open new chapter ahead of his forthcoming album Running With Scissors. Co-produced with Underscores, the track blends chiptune shimmer, warped hyperpop textures and Cavetown's unmistakably intimate songwriting voice, capturing the nervous anticipation of new love and the quiet fear of leaving a mark on someone you care deeply about.

Laneway Festival has announced five new additions to its 2026 national lineup, with each act selected through the annual triple j Unearthed competition. Acclaimed American singer-songwriter Alex G will make his long-awaited return to Australia in February 2026 for two exclusive headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne. The Philadelphia-born artist will perform at the Sydney Opera House on 9 February and Melbourne's Palais Theatre on 11 February, coinciding with his appearances at the Laneway Festival.
