Leo Sayer celebrates his 70th with Just a Boy at 70 world tour

Leo Sayer turned 70 this year and while he is now five years past retirement age in Australia there are no signs he is slowing down.

The 70s pop legend will tour the world in 2019 to mark his 70 years on the planet. Leo will play 17 Australia and New Zealand dates before heading to the UK for a national tour plus one more gig in the Netherlands.

Leo Sayer has anointed this tour ‘Just a Boy at 70’, a reference to his classic 1974 album ‘Just A Boy’.

Leo had album scored chart success with his debut album ‘Silverbird’ (no 2 UK and no 14 Australia 1973’ but it was ‘Just A Boy’ that solidified his career.

‘Just A Boy’ came a year after Leo wrote all of the songs for The Who’s Roger Daltrey’s debut solo album ‘Daltrey’. ‘Daltrey’ debuted two Leo classics ‘One Man Band’ and ‘Giving It All Away’. ‘Giving It All Away’ reached no 5 in the UK one year before the release of Leo’s version but Leo’s ‘Just A Boy’ album outsold Daltrey’s ‘Daltrey’ in the UK, USA and Australia.

Two years later, Leo released his fourth album ‘Endless Flight’ and scored the trifecta with a Top 10 album in the USA, UK and Australia.

Why Queen’s Quietest Member John Deacon Chose to Become a Recluse Until This Rare Return

For fans of Queen, John Deacon has long been the enigma of the band, a brilliant musician, masterful songwriter, and humble presence behind the scenes. Since the early 1990s, Deacon has shunned the spotlight, retiring quietly after Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991. But now, years later, he has quietly resurfaced, lending his signature alongside bandmates Roger Taylor and Brian May on a charity auction item, signalling, perhaps, that even the most private of souls can still make their mark in unexpected ways.
