Madonna Confirmed For Grammy Awards

Madonna has seemingly confirmed she will perform at the Grammys.

One of the biggest dates in the music calendar is due to take place on February 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Organisers have so far kept those who will be taking to the stage under wraps, but Madonna has appeared to announce the news on her Twitter page.

“Rebel Hearts see you Feb 8th @TheGRAMMYs #GRAMMY’s #rebelheart (sic),” she wrote.

Rebel Heart is the name of the superstar singer’s upcoming album, which is due out on March 9. The lead single is called Living for Love and was supposed to hit stores on February 14, meaning the Grammys would have been the perfect time for Madonna to perform it.

However, following a leak at the end of last year the track was rush released on December 20.

Six songs from Rebel Heart were released via iTunes after demos ended up online, in an act Madonna called ‘artistic rape’ and ‘a form of terrorism’.

She spoke about what had happened to Billboard, revealing she had considered putting her new music out in separate groups anyway. The star also hinted a Grammy’s show was on the cards to the publication, although she wouldn’t be pushed on the matter at the time of the interview in December.

“In my mind, it was almost like I wanted to do a two-record set. So you get this chunk of songs, and that chunk of songs. That was my original goal. But then all the demos leaked and I can’t really go down that road anymore, so I put out [the six songs] first and then, I think a few more songs are going to come out during the time of the Grammys. Then the rest of the album will just come out together [in March], and they’ll just get my rebellious and romantic side all mixed in together,” she explained, prompting a question about performing Living for Love with some other big names.

“Mmmhmm… Yes, that would be wonderful. That’s possibly something that’s gonna happen.”
