Madonna Says She Is Too Old To Do Drugs

Madonna has revealed she doesn’t have “the stamina to take drugs”.

The Ray of Light singer has had a career spanning four decades and during that time, she has seen and done a lot of things. The 56-year-old admits she has dabbled in drugs but they don’t really suit her.

“My problem is I don’t have the stamina to take drugs. I feel terrible afterwards. I’m destroyed for days and days,” she confessed to Mojo magazine. “I can’t do anything and I don’t want that inconvenience in my life. So I don’t feel it’s worth the price you have to pay. That’s me.”

Madonna is now a mom-of-four but she added that it isn’t just because of her responsibilities that she now avoids illegal substances. Her passion for dance and caring about her general wellbeing also played a part, even when she was young, free and single.

“Even when I was younger and in my 20s, trying this and that … I mean, I never really did that many drugs. I’m too big of a p***y. Also, I’m a dancer and I don’t want to destroy my body. I want to feel physically good,” she said. “So it never came naturally to me to get out of my brains or get so high that I couldn’t get out of bed for three days. And that’s what happened to me if I did anything.”

While some musicians use drugs to get inspiration, Madonna never felt it enhanced her creative juices. “I wouldn’t say I had musical epiphanies I would say probably I just had … life epiphanies where everything seems better than it is,” she said.
