Melbourne’s Cookin’ On 3 Burners Have The No 1 Song In France

Melbourne soul trio Cookin’ On 3 Burners has the number one song in France today with ‘This Girl’.

The original version of ‘This Girl’ was recorded by Cookin’ On 3 Burners with Melbourne’s Kylie Auldist in 2009. The new version credited as Kungs vs 3 Burners, is the current hit in France.

Kungs performed the song on French television show L’Emission last week with local singer Mel Sugar.

Cookin’ On 3 Burners is Jake Mason (guitar), Dan West (guitar) and Ivan Khatchoyan (drums). The trio formed in 1997 to experiment musically with funk, soul and jazz.

‘This Girl’ featured in the 2009 ‘Soul Messin’ album.
