Melbourne singer, songwriter, producer and drummer G Flip has received the 2019 ARIA Emerging Artist Scholarship.

The scholarship will include travel support from Virgin Airlines for 2019 domestic and international trips.

G Flip said, “Stoked to accept the ARIA’s Emerging Artist Scholarship for 2018. Thank you to the ARIA’s and Virgin Australia for allowing upcoming artists this opportunity.”

Dan Rosen, Chief Executive ARIA said “On behalf of all at ARIA we are thrilled to present G Flip with the second ARIA Emerging Artist Scholarship Presented by Virgin Australia. I would like to thank Virgin Australia for their support and contribution which will assist in developing G Flip’s career and help her take her music to the world.”

G Flip is Georgina Flipo, a Melbourne woman who has been drumming since the age of 9 mentored by school teacher Jenny Morrish. Jenny passed away from cancer in 2015, aged 31.

Georgia was a member of Melbourne band Empra. She taught herself how to produce and then she too became a music teacher.
