‘Molly – Do Yourself A Favour’, the mini-series about the life of Countdown star Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum, will be accompanied with a massive 3CD soundtrack featuring 60 songs.

The Molly soundtrack predates the historic and iconic ‘Countdown’ music show dating back to the 60s with the Meldrum produced Russell Morris classic ‘The Real Thing’ and Lynn Randall’s ‘Ciao Baby’. Morris has remained one of Molly’s closest friend. Randall, who was a popstar in the 60s, became Molly’s assistant years later.

The songs featured in the soundtrack are no just the soundtrack to a mini-series, they capture the musical landscape of Australia across the 60s, 70s and 80s. These songs were the popular music Australian’s were hearing daily on radio and became the soundtrack to many lives.

“Watching the mini-series and listening to this album, my life literally flashes before my eyes,” Molly said in a statement. “Re-Living In The ’70. It was a great time for Australian music.”

‘Molly – Do Yourself A Favour’ was produced by Mushroom Pictures and stars Sam Johnson as Molly. “It’s a surreal experience watching your life on screen,” Molly admits. “For me, it only really makes sense when I listen to the music, the songs that are on this soundtrack.”
