Ozzy Osbourne Concerned Over Sharon’s Seizures

Ozzy Osbourne was terrified his wife Sharon wouldn’t survive chemotherapy for colon cancer as her seizures just kept getting worse.

Sharon, 63, was diagnosed with the disease in 2002 and received extensive treatment, followed by a double mastectomy in 2012 upon discovering she carried a gene which increased her risk of breast cancer. It was difficult for the family to come to terms with Sharon’s illness, especially for rocker Ozzy, who admits he’d never have the same courage as she did.

“Yeah she was diagnosed with colon cancer and was having chemotherapy three times a month for nine months and she had these weird f**king seizures,” he recalled to news.com.au. “I thought she wouldn’t last three weeks because each seizure was worse than the last but she pulled it off. These people don’t back down from a fight – they have a strong conviction to live. Me, I’m the wimp of the bunch – I’ll catch a disease off the telly, I will.”

Ozzy then had to cope with his Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi being diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012, which saw the band alter dates of its 2013 shows for him to undergo treatment. The group is currently gearing up to begin its final ever tour, titled The End. Despite the title, 67-year-old Ozzy promises it won’t be the last fans see of him.

“The the things we’ve discovered (as a band) are – number one: People aren’t really interested in hearing new stuff and number two: If we were to do an album before the tour – it would take three or four years to complete the album. We want to end it on a high note,” he said.

“Well I did pretty well for 35 years – and I’m not retiring. I’m going to do a solo album and a solo tour. I mean my wife’s a shopaholic, (she’s) always off buying f**king shoes or something so I’ve got to keep the money coming somehow.”
