David Bowie producer Tony Visconti will deliver the keynote address at the SXSW music conference in Austin in March.

Visconti was a life-long producer for Bowie starting with the 1969 ‘David Bowie’ album (renamed ‘Space Oddity in 1972) and all the way through to the recent ‘Blackstar’. Visconti also produced all of the T.Rex albums and has worked Kaiser Chiefs, Iggy Pop, Thin Lizzy and Elaine Paige.

Visconti earned his first Grammy, not from Bowie, but from Angelique Kidjo for his work producing her ‘Djin Djin’ album. His autobiography, Bowie, Bolan and the Brooklyn Boy (Harper Collins UK) is an evocative overview of Visconti’s life, musical beginnings, and adventures in London with David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Thin Lizzy, Paul McCartney, and more.

The Tony Visconti opening keynote will take place on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Room 18ABCD of the Austin Convention Center.

And for a bit of fun…
