Nic Wilson To Quit British India

British India founding member and guitarist will “retire” from the band he helped start in 2004.

British India are Wilson, Declan Melia, Will Drummond and Matt O’Gorman. Until this announcement, the line-up had been stable since day one.

Wilson was with the band for their six albums, four of which went Top 10 on the ARIA Album Chart. The most recent album ‘Forgetting The Future’ (2017) peaked at no 12.

Wilson issued a statement saying:

“British India is something we started as snotty nosed high school kid that became something much bigger and more important to people than we could have ever expected. The three lads in the band were the three best men at my wedding and the three best men to play a part in in my life.

“We decided on everything together as children to adults and proved that democracy can prevail when done right. I was lucky to share every terrible Tarago road trip with them laughing hysterically as the road disappeared behind us. I was lucky to share the stage at first playing to nobody and then playing to thousands.

“And I was lucky to live out the dream a 12-year-old version of myself pined for daily. To play music to people who cared. For that – I thank you. But time moves on and I have other things I want to try my hand at and I am ready to see what else I can do.

“Thank you for the memories everybody. Rock n Roll I gave you the best years of my life.”

British India will farewell Nic Wilson with one final tour.
