Queen Bohemian Rhapsody DVD Update – Full Live Aid Recreation as bonus footage

by Paul Cashmere on January 3, 2019

in News

Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ movie will be released digitally on January 22 and on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 12 and will include the complete recreation of the Live Aid performance, only seen in part in the movie.

Bohemian Rhapsody was the 13th biggest movie of 2018 in the USA according to Box Office revenue.

While the movie is totally inaccurate in its telling of the Queen story, which in itself is amazing considering Brian May and Roger Taylor were executive producers, it does give an incredible overview of the legacy of Queen.

The movie makes out that Queen reformed for Live Aid which is totally untrue. They had been on a world tour for a year prior to Live Aid and were in peak shape for the performance. They even toured Australia a few months before Live Aid.

Here is the complete original Queen Live Aid performance from 1985:

Full DVD details:

Bohemian Rhapsody is an enthralling celebration of Queen, their music, and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and convention to become one of history’s most beloved entertainers. Following Queen’s meteoric rise, their revolutionary sound and Freddie’s solo career, the film also chronicles the band’s reunion, and one of the greatest performances in rock history.

Leo Sayer Shares His Thoughts on The Passing of Sly Stone

There really is a riot going on right now, so what a poignant moment it seems to be to lose a hero I never met, yet a man I often imagined as my soul brother. I worked with many of his alumni (including the man who helped invent him, fellow San Fran disk jockey Tom Donahue), and to say they and he inspired me would be a useless understatement.
