The Melbourne leg of the Community Cup has had REMI and Boxwars added to the bill.

Yarra City Council Mayor, Cr Amanda Stone is thrilled that the cup has returned to the City of Yarra – “We are delighted to welcome the Reclink Community Cup to the City of Yarra. Victoria Park has a long tradition of hosting football matches with strong local support and is now a much-loved open space for our community. Reclink Australia is doing excellent work connecting disadvantaged people with sports and the arts and the Reclink Community Cup must be one of the most enjoyable ways to raise awareness and funds for Reclink. Yarra is home to live music and community radio and this is simply a wonderful confluence of our values and interests.”

The 2017 line-up also includes Spiderbait, The Peep Tempel, Jen Cloher, along with Aussie legends Deborah Conway, Willy Zygier and She Said Zed performing ‘Streets of Your Town’ – a tribute to The Go-Betweens and the 2017 theme. For the kids, Murray Wiggle and Wally Meanie have come together and formed the Bubblegum Machine.

Funds raised through the Reclink Community Cups support Reclink Australia’s work with disadvantaged communities across Australia. From its inception back in 1993, the Melbourne event now rallies more than 10,000 avid followers who collectively raise over $100,000 every year for the cause.

Reclink Australia delivers specialist sport, recreation, and arts programs for at-risk youth, people with mental illness or disability, people experiencing homelessness and domestic violence, and those facing alcohol, gambling, and substance addictions.
