Sammy J has morphed into Country Star Buster J and together with his band The Franking Credits has given us what is potentially The Song of the Year. Fuck it, let’s call it now … ‘Queensland We’re Breaking Up With You’ is the Song of the Year.

Following last weekend’s unpredicted turn of political events, Sam McMillan (aka Sammy J) has constructed a near perfect country song representing the sentiment of 48.45% of all Australians.

‘Queensland We’re Breaking Up With You’ features stinging lines like “We should have seen it coming like four Xs on a beer”, “You kicked up in the preferences and now my polls are bruised” and “Its time to turn One Nation into two”.

Amongst the most tragic of lines, “You gave us Joe Bjelke-Petersen but also Powderfinger, we’ll take you back when you break up with Clive”.

McMillan debuted his Sammy J character on national television for the very first time in 1999 on Hey Hey Its Saturday.

In 2016 Sammy created ‘Sammy J’s Playground Politics’ for the ABC for the 2016 Federal Election.

In 2018 the ABC gave McMillian the ultimate credibility boost when he inherited the Clarke and Dawe timeslot.

Sammy J will tour Australia starting 6 June in Newcastle.

Four Corners Sony Music Expose Is Just The Tip of the Iceberg

Let me start by saying I am not a fan of ‘Trial By Media’. The objective for a television program is eyeballs, not a legal conclusion. That is precisely what a huge brand name like Sony Music can deliver. Four Corners simply opened a door and allowed viewers a peak inside the entertainment industry and it was pretty ugly.
