The documentary is named after Harrison’s 1973 album and follows his entire life, from the early days of the Beatles, to their ascention, break-up, his solo career and many travels to India.

George Harrison: Living In A Material World features interviews with his wife Olivia, son Dhani, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Phil Spector, Monty Python’s Eric Idle (Harrison funded Life Of Brian) and archival interviews with Harrison himself.

Martin Scorsese had been splitting his time between Shutter Island and the doco throughout 2008 and 2009 and it will finally be revealed in October.

It will air in two parts on HBO in the US on October 5 and 6, and on the BBC in the UK.

There will also be special packages to buy, including a double DVD, 96-page booklet and a CD of never-released Harrison tracks.

There will also be a personal archive book of the same name collated by Olivia and released by Abrams Books in late October.
