Smashing Pumpkins Announce Splendour Sideshows

Smashing Pumpkins announce some big sideshows from Splendour In The Grass.

The major legacy act of this year’s Splendour In The Grass is Billy Corgan’s Smashing Pumpkins (well, his band consists of all non-original members Mike Byrne, Nicole Fiorentino and Jeff Schroeder).

Now Corgan has booked three tidy stadium shows around the nation in July, and we’ll be the first in the world to hear live renditions of tunes from the band’s forthcoming Oceania album which is due out on June 22.

He’s been quite disdainful about nostalgia acts in the media recently so we can’t guarantee any of the SP classics.

They’ll be joined on stage by Wolfmother in Sydney and Melbourne, with a “special guest” promised for Perth. Tickets go on sale next Wednesday 9 May from Ticketmaster for Sydney and Perth and Ticketek for Melbourne.

Smashing Pumpkins Australian Tour 2012
Thursday 26 July – Challenge Stadium, Perth
Tuesday 31 July – Entertainment Centre, Sydney
Thursday 2 August – Hisense Arena, Melbourne
