Temple Of The Dog Open To Make A Second Album

by Paul Cashmere on August 10, 2016

in Live,News

Chris Cornell says a second Temple of the Dog album is indeed a possibility.

Speaking to Rolling Stone Cornell said, “We’d have to feel really great about the songs. It’s a scary thing. I don’t want to say they’d have to live up to the [first] album, but I wouldn’t want it to take away from it either.”

Temple of the Dog was a Seattle rock band put together by Cornell and Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron as a tribute to their late friend Andrew Wood. Temple of the Dog existed from 1990 to 1992 and recorded one album, the self-titled release in 1991.

About new music Cornell said, “It was the same issue with reforming Soundgarden. I’m super excited about writing new songs as long as we don’t detract from what came before, and ultimately we did that. I think the same thing would apply to Temple.”

Temple of the Dog have reformed for limited shows in November. Cornell says it is possible the band will perform more shows in Europe in 2017.

Temple of the Dog 2016 Tour Dates:

11/04 and 05 – Philadelphia, PA, Tower Theater
11/07 – New York, NY, Madison Square Garden
11/11 and 12– San Francisco, CA, Bill Graham Civic Center
11/14 – Los Angeles, CA, The Forum
11/20 and 21 – Seattle, WA, Paramount Theater
