The Mark of Cain to Perform Debut Album Battlesick

The Mark of Cain will reform and perform their debut album ‘Battlesick’ to mark the 30th anniversary of the release.

Henry Rollins was a champion of The Mark of Cain. “Like I heard the song Wake Up and I was like ‘whooah’, I woke up! And then I heard the song Battlesick and it was all over for me, that’s just an amazing song. For me, just as a songwriter, that’s the song for which you wish you wrote the lyrics. Like ‘damn man, he wrote Battlesick, that fucker. Let me write that. I mean the imagery in the song is amazing and Deadman’s Mail, that’s just incredible,” he said.

The Mark of Cain’s earliest incarnation was in 1984. The first single was ‘The Lords of Summer’ in 1988. ‘Battlesick’ came along in August, 1989.

The 2019 shows will be the first shows for The Mark of Cain since their benefit for original drummer Rod Archer in 2015. Rod passed away from cancer in 2016.
