Thirsty Merc will mark the 10th anniversary of their debut album with a round of shows and an acoustic record.

‘AAA’ (Acoustic Anniversary Album) will be released in September with reworked versions of ’20 Good Reasons’, ‘In The Summertime’, ‘Someday Someday’ and ‘Mousetrap Heart’.

Thirsty Merc sold over 200,000 albums in Australia and the song ’20 Good Reasons’ was a finalist for APRA Song of the Year.

“I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we released our debut! We want to say a really big thanks to our fans – they’ve been amazing. This Merc-tober we’ll play this album live on tour and throw in a few newbies too.”

Thirsty Merc formed in Sydney with origins from Dubbo in 2002 and released the self-titled debut album in August, 2004. It sold platinum in Australia. The follow-up ‘Slideshows’ in 2007 went Gold.

‘AAA’ will be released through MGM on September 5.
