Van Halen Perform On Hollywood Boulevard

by Paul Cashmere on April 1, 2015

in News

Van Halen played to thousands of fans on Monday on Hollywood Boulevard in a mini-concert, part of which was aired on Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC show on Monday night with additional songs being broadcast tonight.

The appearance was billed as the band’s first television performance since the return of David Lee Roth to the band and it didn’t take long for the singer to make his mark. During their opening song (Panama), Roth started twirling the microphone stand around, him himself in the nose and cut it.

A few minutes later, Roth returned to the stage with a bandaid on his nose and the band relaunched the eight song show highlighted by songs from throughout their career with Roth. All of the songs appear on their new live album, Tokyo Dome in Concert.

The set list:
Panama (from 1984, 1984)
Runnin’ With the Devil (from Van Halen, 1978)
Eruption / You Really Got Me Now (both from Van Halen, 1978)
Hot for Teacher (from 1984, 1984)
Dance the Night Away (from Van Halen II, 1979)
Unchained (from Fair Warning, 1981)
Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love (from Van Halen, 1978)
