Lil’ Band O’ Gold’s new album ‘Lil Band O Gold Plays Fats’ features two tracks with Robert Plant but their occasion goes back years.

Robert was in New Orleans some years back to record Fats Domino songs with Lil’ Band O’ Gold for the rebuilding of New Orleans.
A lot of their work together was documented in the Lil’ Band O’ Gold movie ‘Promised Land: A Swamp Pop Journey’.
On ‘Plays Fats’, Plant sings lead vocal on the tracks ‘It Keeps Raining’ and ‘I’ve Been Around’. Other guests on the album include Lucinda Williams, Ani DiFranco, Tim Rogers and Jimmy Barnes.
Robert Plant and his current band Band Of Joy will also release a DVD next month.
During the first sessions, Robert Plant ventured into a New Orleans nightclub and performed a few songs with Lil’ Band O’ Gold. Watch them perform ‘I’ve Been Around’ here.
