Walk Off The Earth have announced details of the free tribute concert to their bandmate Mike ‘Beard Guy’ Taylor.

Beard Guy died in his sleep of natural causes on 29 December, 2018.

The tribute concert will take place in Burlington, Canada. It will feature members of Barenaked Ladies, Scott Helman, Monster Truck and USS. More acts will be added.

The Mike ‘Beard Guy’ tribute concert is a free event. It will be held at Civic Square, Downtown Burlington at 4:30pm this Sunday 13 January in front of city hall at 426 Brant Street. Flags outside the Town Hall were lowered to half mast upon news of Beard Guy’s death.

The concert is being presented by the City of Burlington and Sounds of Music Festival. In a statement Burlington mayor Marianne Meed Ward said, “You have left us with a rich musical legacy,” she wrote. “Thank you Mike for your contribution to music here and around the world. We will truly miss you.”

For fans worldwide who cannot make the event, Walk Off The Earth will continue to pay tribute to Beard Guy during their world tour of 2019.

“Mike loved our fans so much. We want to honor him and his legacy by continuing our world tour to bring the spirit of this memorial to our fans across the globe,” the band said in a statement.
