Wilco Side Project The Autumn Defense Amongst First SXSW Announcements

by Anthony Barton on October 17, 2013

in News

One-third of Wilco, John Stirrat and Patrick Sansone, will play SXSW with their side project The Autumn Defense.

Despite selling thousands upon thousands of albums with their other band, Wilco, Stirrat and Sansone have pursued their musical dream with classicpop/rock sounds of The Autumn Defense.

Following the release of their 2007 self-titled album on their own Broadmoor label, the two signed with Yep Rock records to release their 2010 album, ‘Once Around’.

The Autumn Defense featured in the first SXSW announcement along with Australia’s Vance Joy and Money For Rope, the UK’s Eliza Doolittle and Chicago’s Urge Overkill, amongst many others.

More artists will be announced for SXSW in the coming months.
