Australia can claim Steve Smyth for itself (the Ned Kelly beard might be a hint) but he’s been spreading his spine-tingling rootsy blues across the world in person for years.
In a whistle-stop tour, Smyth dropped into the studio to perform three gruff, intoxicating songs – ‘Barmaid Blues’ and ‘In A Place’ from his debut album Release, and a jaw-dropping vocal cover of Lead Belly’s ‘Slyvie’.
