“Nearly everything my band knows about how to approach recording a song is attached to The Beatles in some way,” he said talking about the release of the new Beatles compilation. “Directly or indirectly, they’ve shaped the way every album is recorded, and have changed the world.”

The Beatles released a surprise compilation today focused on lesser known rock songs by the band.

These songs are the ones that had an affect on new artists like Linkin Park, Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters and Band of Horses.

The Beatles: Tomorrow Never Knows is available through iTunes.
