Paul Simon, James Taylor To Play Sting Benefit

When Sting and his wife, Trudy Styler, first announced their 25th Anniversary Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert, there were no other artists set for the event. Ticket buyers had to take it on faith that a big name show would be put together.

It looks like those buyers will be rewarded as the list of artists continues to grow. Along with Sting, the evening will include Paul Simon, James Taylor, Dionne Warwick, Renee Fleming, Chris Botti and Ivy Levan, plus additional artists yet to be announced.

Sting is currently on tour with Simon while Ivy Levan made her debut on February 2nd’s Late Show With David Lettermen singing Drive My Car with Sting.

The show is Thursday, May 17 at the Stern Auditorium, Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Tickets for the event are on sale but word is that it is close to being sold out.

Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
