Reece Mastin has broken away from this major label association with Sony Music to sign with Indie label Social Family Records.

Mastin is now managed by Mahalia Barnes and the new direction sends Mastin away from his reality show pop period to concentrate on music he is personally inspired to make.

“Super excited to announce that I’ll be working with Social Family Records. They’re really lovely people and are so supportive of my new music. I feel like I’m where I belong right now. I couldn’t be happier to kick off this new phase,” said Reece Mastin in a statement.

Mastin thanked Sony for the experience and says he is looking forward to taking control with his new direction. “These last couple of years have been a real roller-coaster for me, a really amazing experience and I have learned a lot. I’ve had a lot of growing to do as an artist; I have been really working hard at trying to find my sound, and with the amazing support from my fans, friends and family I feel like I’m ready and in a great place. I know it’s been a while, but I am so excited to get some new music out there and I can’t thank everyone enough for being so patient,“ Reece says.

Via Social Family Records, Mastin is now part of a roster including Amber Lawrence, Christine Anu, Jason Owen, Baby Animals, The Dead Daises, Steve Balbi, and David Campbell.

The first Reece Mastin release will be an E.P. in coming months.
