Melbourne Guitar Show has given the spotlight to an enormous young talent. Guitarist Charlie Bedford is 17-years old.

Melbourne guitarist Lloyd Spiegel championed the inclusion of Charlie on this year’s show and it turned out to be a Melbourne Guitar Show highlight.

Charlie Bedford performed in Nick Charles Blues & Roots Show in Saturday with Fiona Boyes, Ed Bates and Justin Bernasconi at the show and then Charlie returned to play alongside Brett Garsed, Jack Jones, Shannon Bourne and James Ryan at the Triple M Finale Jam on Sunday afternoon.

Charlie performed at the International Blues Challenge – Youth Showcase’ in Memphis in 2017 and 2018 representing the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society.

Charlie Bedford cites B.B. King as his biggest influence but is also quick to talk up his mentor Lloyd Spiegel. He is also a big Robert Cray fan.

At this stage Charlie has not signed with any label. Given that he was born in the 21st Century, Charlie could potentially still be performing in the 22nd Century.
