Ann Wilson will release Consecrated Ground, her second studio album with Tripsitter, on September 25, 2026, continuing a solo career that has increasingly operated alongside her work with Heart. The nine-track album follows 2023’s Another Door and will be released digitally and physically on CD and vinyl through Label Logic. Its release comes as Wilson prepares for an international touring schedule that includes four Australian performances in November, her first Australian shows as a solo artist.
Consecrated Ground is built entirely around new material rather than a retrospective of Heart. The album opens with I Will Not Be Coming Back, which was introduced as its first single, and moves through songs including Bone Pain, Me And Comanche, Hard Fought and Hot Foot before closing with Reverse Chaos.
The record continues the working relationship between Wilson and Tripsitter established on Another Door. The band provides the musical framework for a collection described in the supplied album material as drawing from heavy rock, psychedelia and blues, with shifting dynamics supporting Wilson’s vocal performances.
For Wilson, the project represents another chapter in a recording career that has expanded well beyond the Heart catalogue. While her voice remains closely associated with songs including Magic Man, Crazy On You, Barracuda and Alone, her solo work has increasingly provided a separate platform for new material and collaborations.
Wilson released her first solo album, Hope & Glory, in 2007. The album combined original material with covers and included appearances from artists including Elton John, k.d. lang, Alison Krauss, Shawn Colvin and Rufus Wainwright. She later developed The Ann Wilson Thing!, issuing two EPs in 2015 and 2016, before releasing Immortal in 2018 and Fierce Bliss in 2022.
Another Door, released in 2023 with Tripsitter, established the current studio partnership that Consecrated Ground now extends. Wilson has also remained active outside her own albums, including guest appearances with artists from different parts of the rock spectrum. Her 2022 collaboration with Disturbed on Don’t Tell Me reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Song Sales chart, while her long association with Led Zeppelin’s music has included the Wilson sisters’ widely recognised performance of Stairway To Heaven at the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors.
The new album also follows a significant period for Heart. The band’s Royal Flush Tour was postponed in 2024 after Wilson underwent treatment for cancer, with touring resuming in 2025. That return allowed Wilson to continue performing with Heart while maintaining her separate recording and touring identity with Tripsitter.
Wilson’s history with Heart remains central to her position in rock. She joined the band in the early 1970s alongside her sister Nancy Wilson, helping establish a group that became one of the most commercially significant rock acts fronted by women. Heart’s early albums Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen produced enduring songs including Magic Man, Crazy On You and Barracuda. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
The Australian dates are a particularly significant extension of Wilson’s solo career. As previously reported by Noise11, her four November performances will take place in Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, with Dragon supporting the shows. Heart previously performed in Australia in 2011 as part of a tour supporting Def Leppard.
The Australian run follows performances in the United States and Canada in September and October, with Wilson and Tripsitter then scheduled to perform in Japan before travelling to Australia. The shows will provide an opportunity to place Consecrated Ground material alongside Wilson’s broader solo catalogue and songs associated with Heart.
Consecrated Ground therefore sits within an active period for Wilson rather than functioning solely as a retrospective project. The album adds nine new songs to her solo repertoire while Tripsitter continues as an established creative partnership. Its September release will precede the Australian dates by roughly two months, giving the new material a place in Wilson’s live repertoire as she reaches audiences across several continents.
For Australian audiences, the November concerts will be the first chance to see Wilson perform in the country in a solo context. The four dates will also place the new Tripsitter material alongside the Heart songs that have defined her career, creating a live set that spans more than five decades of recording history.
