APRA AMCOS will represent OriGin for mobile, online and media services throughout Asia.

This will make Sydney-based OriGin the fifth publisher to work with APRA AMCOS in Asia after Universal Music Publishing, Peermusic, Imagem and Hillsong.

In a statement, Philip Walker of origin said, “Asia is a key region in our global expansion strategy and we are excited to join the APRA AMCOS Pan-Asian licensing hub, a proven multi-territory digital regional hub that will ensure our songwriters get paid fairly and efficiently in this notoriously difficult market”.

According to Brett Cottle of APRA AMCOS, “ORiGiN are an exciting and fast growing independent player with an extremely important roster of Australian and international writers. We’re excited to be partnering with them as they push towards their 25th year in the business as a true global player. This agreement signifies the importance of the Asian digital market.

OriGin is the music publisher for Wally De Backer, Cookin’ On Three Burners and James Morrison.
