Bob Dylan Melbourne Fans Treated To 73rd Celebrations

Bob Dylan will turn 73 on May 24 and Australian artists will celebrate with a series of events in Melbourne.

From Thursday and then all weekend the RockWiz inspired BobWiz and three all-star ‘Forever Young’ tribute performances will take place at the Caravan Club.

Organisers Ian Lovell and Judi Keneally has gathered not only the cream of the Melbourne music community to celebrate all things Bob but an international guest as well. Robyn Hitchcock will appear at BobWiz on Thursday and return for ‘Forever Young – The Songs Of Bob Dylan’ on Friday night.

Firstly BobWiz will be presented by RockWiz creator Brian Nankervis and feature a selection of Dylan clips from RRR’s Paul Harris. The all-Bob trivia night will be conducted like an episode of RockWiz with early rounds determining the final 6 players.

Then Friday, Saturday and Sunday prepare to Bob up and down with ‘Forever Young – The Songs Of Bob Dylan’.

The Friday line-up is:

Robyn Hitchcock (New addition), Chris Wilson,  Shane Howard,  Deborah Conway,  Liz Stringer, Ross Hannaford, Mick Thomas,  Suzannah Espie,   Charles Jenkins, Van Walker, Gallie and Harry Hookey

The Saturday line-up is:

Chris Wilson,  Shane Howard, Ross Hannaford, Mick Thomas,  Suzannah Espie,  Lisa Miller, Charles Jenkins, Harry Hookey, James Griffin, Gallie, Rebecca Barnard and Shane O’Mara

The Sunday line-up is:

Tex Perkins, Stephen Cummings, Rebecca Barnard, Shane O’Mara, Shane Howard,  Liz Stringer, Ross Hannaford,  Suzannah Espie,  Van Walker, Gallie and more.

All three Forever Young shows will feature backing band Peter Luscombe on drums, Ashley Naylor on guitar, Bruce Haymes on keyboards and Steve Hadley on bass.
