Richie Sambora simply didn’t turn up for the band’s performance in Calgary this week and now Jon Bon Jovi has made a $100,000 donation to the Calgary Homeless Foundation for Sambora’s absence.

A surprise post on Bon Jovi’s website last night stated that guitarist Richie Sambora was leaving the “current leg” of the group’s Because We Can Tour due to “personal reasons.”

The vagueness of the term set off speculation around the world that Richie once again had a relapse in his fight against drinking and drugs but that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least according to TMZ.

The site reports that they have talked to sources in the Bon Jovi camp who say that there is a war between Sambora and group namesake Jon Bon Jovi. Among the problems is that Richie feels that Jon belittles him along with regular disagreements over money.

According to TMZ, Sambora just didn’t show up for the group’s show in Calgary last night which led Bon Jovi to tell the crowd “I had two choices: pack up and go home or give you everything I got … Richie Sambora won’t be performing for a while. If there’s ever a night I need you, it’s tonight, Calgary!”

The group posted an assurance to fans on their website today:

Ticket purchasers need not worry, all upcoming shows will go on as scheduled. Any ticket purchaser who would like a refund can do so before show time.
