Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s split is reportedly ‘getting ugly’.

The America’s Got Talent host admitted during an interview on Thursday that he and his estranged wife have been living apart for several months, adding ‘there’s trouble in paradise’.

And Mariah is said to be extremely incensed by Nick’s announcement their split is ‘no longer amicable’.

‘Things are getting ugly’, a source told E! News.

The songstress is supposedly upset with Nick’s decision to make their breakup news public.

It is claimed Mariah thinks he his choice was incredibly immature.

“She can’t believe he went and did that,” the insider noted. “Not what they had agreed on and not classy. He was not supposed to say a word.

“She thinks it was extremely childish, impulsive and opportunistic. For her, it was the last straw. She’s done with him now.”

According to an insider, the pair, who have three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe together, are not on good terms right now.

Mariah has so far remained resolutely silent about the split, choosing instead to issue a short statement via her representative.

‘I am not commenting on Mariah’s personal life, but Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour,’ the statement read.

Nick was doing an interview on Yahoo’s The Insider on Thursday when he broke the news of the couple’s split.

‘There is trouble in paradise,’ he said. ‘We have been living in separate houses for a few months.’

However, Nick insisted he and Mariah are doing their utmost not to put the twins in the middle of their personal issues.

‘My main focus is my kids,’ he added.
