in Live,News

The Melbourne Music Festival for 2015 will feature a performance of the Patti Smith Band’s classic album ‘Horses’ by Courtney Barnett and friends.

Courtney’s friends will include Jen Cloher, Magic Dirt’s Adalita and The Drones’ Gareth Liddiard performing the definitive 1975 album for one night only at the Melbourne Town Hall.

Smith’s ‘Horses’ was a cult classic in Australia, never reaching commercial success and only peaking at no. 80 on the Australian album chart in 1986.

‘Horses’ was Patti Smith’s debut album. Barnett and friends will perform the classic to mark the 40th anniversary of its release as part of the Melbourne Festival.

The 30th Melbourne Festival is on from 8-25 October 2015.
