The Frogs were originally from Mikwaukee. Brothers Jimmy and Dennis Flemion formed the band in 1980.

The band had a influence on Kurt Cobain, Beck, Pearl Jam and the Smashing Pumpkins. Billy Corgan later produced the short film ‘Meet The Frogs’ about the band and in 1996 recruited Dennis into Smashing Pumpkins as their live keyboard player for a year.

The Flemion Brothers also played on Smashing Pumpkins ‘Tonight, Tonight’ and sang backing vocals on their 1988 song ‘Adore’.

In a tweet today Billy Corgan wrote, “I’m devastated by the loss of my friend Dennis Flemion. Words can’ explain the sorry. A tragic loss. Please pray for his family”.

The Frogs released two new studio albums digitally this year.
