The Gossip frontwoman was picked up by police during a night out in the early hours of Saturday. She was apparently denied service at the Bungalo Bar in Portland because she was deemed too intoxicated.

After being made to leave the establishment the 32-year-old singer apparently strode into the road and began shouting.

‘She walked out in the middle of the street, threw off her shoes and purse and screamed, ‘Obama! Obama!” a source told Willamette Week.

It was her screams which alerted police to what was happening and she was booked at 1.42am.

The insider claims ‘ten or 12’ police cars were in the area, thought to be in part because another suspect was spraying graffiti on a wall.

A user of social news website Reddit has claimed Beth was ‘blackout drunk’ and ‘challenging people to fights’.

It has also been speculated that the barman at the establishment put the call in to police after Beth kicked him.

Beth’s mug shot has been released and she is seen with heavy black eye make-up on. Her hair is unkempt and she appears pale.

The singer has been released from jail and will appear in court at a later date. If convicted, she could be imprisoned for six months.

Motion City Soundtrack Step Back Into the Spotlight With The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World

When Motion City Soundtrack first appeared at the turn of the millennium, they were the unlikely bridge between Midwest punk energy and geeky lyrical introspection. Fast-forward nearly three decades, and the Minneapolis quintet are back with The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World, their first album since 2015's Panic Stations. For a band that once declared “Don't Call It a Comeback” on their debut I Am The Movie, the phrase feels especially fitting as they re-emerge with their sharpest set of songs in years.
